Riverside Park is one of Perrysburg’s oldest parks dating back to 1915 when the land was gifted to the City. Situated along Front Street, the park has a vertical elevation change of 40 feet which has restricted access to the park.
Proposed improvements focus on providing an accessible route from the upper portion of the park to the lower portion via a universally accessible walkway and series of ramps. With an expanded upper plaza, visitors will be able to take advantage of the panoramic views over the park and the Maumee River. The lower portion of the park has been enhanced with a lower plaza that features brick pavers, casual seating, and plantings that offer an opportunity for rest and leisure adjacent to the multi-use path. Architectural elements throughout the park reflect the natural elements and historic character of the northwest Ohio canals and bridge structures.
