We are seeking to hire a creative and motivated professional specializing in land planning, site, and landscape design to join our private development team in the Columbus, Ohio office. This individual will have the opportunity to work in a flexible, collaborative studio environment servicing both national and local developers and builders from the Central Ohio market. Project types will include multi-family residential (40%), single-family residential (40%), and mixed-use (20%). The ideal candidate will have a desire and proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring critical thinking, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills at all service levels from pre-development due diligence through land entitlement and site permitting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently and thoroughly inventory and analyze potential development sites, identifying physical and regulatory opportunities and constraints.
- Contribute to creative site and landscape design alternatives and solutions, collaboratively with the design team.
- Lead the production and communication of design solutions from concept to construction, ensuring alignment with EDGE’s design philosophy.
- Collaborate with project consultants across multiple disciplines to deliver coordinated, high-quality, thoughtful solutions.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Degree in a relevant, allied field (i.e., landscape architecture, civil engineering, architecture).
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in land planning and/or relevant project types.
- Ability to think critically, embrace problem solving and work collaboratively with the design team.
- Quickly generate and test multiple design concepts that lead to appropriate design solutions through a collaborative process.
- Strong work ethic – independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills, balancing the needs of multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and/or Revit.
- Familiarity with the local development environment and general market trends.
